New to group

Hi everyone. My name is Chris and I am an avid reader. It's not unusual for me to be in the middle of 4-5 books at a time. One of the most recent series I have been reading are the Supper Club Mysteries. They are a great easy read and they all have recipes. I enjoy most types of books and am a cookbook collector. My husband and I live in northern Michigan with our two dogs and boy am I looking forward to spring so that we can enjoy some time outside. I will welcome any book recommendations.

A Song of Fire and Ice Series.

So I have finally gotten around to reading The Song of Fire and Ice series aka Game of Thrones. I'm only about halfway through the first book but I'm really enjoying them so far. I'm hoping to really get my hustle on and finish all five books before the new season of GoT starts on HBO. I doubt that will happen, but I'm sure working on it! I'm surprised at how I'm able to move through this book as quickly as I am considering what monsters they are at around 1000 pages each! I love the show, the books are great so far, but kind of difficult to read, psychologically/emotionally speaking, knowing what's to come is difficult as George RR Martin really likes to let circumstances play out to their logical conclusions instead of giving us heroic rescues and unlikely escapes! God bless him for that, but man it's tough to read always knowing what lies just around the corner in his books!

Introduction

I'm Deb Stover, mother, widow, grandmother, romance & fantasy author who loves to cook. :) My first book was published in 1995 and whenever I get stuck with my writing, I bake. I sent my agent cookies once just before Thanksgiving, and she called me and said, "These are the best cookies I've ever had, but does this mean you aren't writing?" She knows me too well. By then I was through the block, though, so it was a good laugh. My bibliography is here: debstover.com/books.html . My romance novels contain consummated love scenes, but they are not erotica. However, if you're looking for what some readers call a "clean" read--meaning no sex on the page--please don't buy my books. My fantasy stories in anthologies are probably safe for you, though. :)

I just finished SHADOW SPELL, the second book in Nora Roberts' most recent trilogy. The first book was THE DARK WITCH. The third is on my iPad waiting for me to have time to read. It's called BLOOD MAGICK. I enjoy her paranormal romantic stories much more than her suspense novels.

A lot of my books are time-travel romances, some are ghost stories, my Irish trilogy is a reincarnation theme (still need to write the third one), and I have a couple of historical romances and one contemporary romance with no paranormal elements.

Happy reading!

~Deb

Cozy mysteries..

The last book I read was a Lucy Stone Mystery by Leslie Meier. Love that series as it is set in Maine, one of my favorite States. My favorite are British cozies. M.C. Beaton, Simon Brett...

I'm reading A Brew to Kill

This is a coffee house mystery series,
by Cleo Coyle. The story line is light harted with some mystery. I love all the characters.
