Cutting Corners

Although I LOVE cooking from scratch, there is just not always time for it to prepare a nice meal. I know I am not the only one out there who has read comments that criticize others for using and posting recipes using boxed cake mix, bisquick, packaged pastry and premade dough and though "wow you're rude!"

Here is a place to find haven from that as well as find and share recipes that will help you cut a few corners to make a delicious mostly made from scratch meal!!

Turkey and Cranberry Sandwich... "YUM"

I've never had a turkey and cranberry sandwich, not until 5 years ago, and after I came across this recipe, which was posted by Emily Mathews at The turkey and cranberry sauce goes so well together, plus the bacon, mayo, and provolone cheese, brings this sandwich over the top. I love this sandwich, and hope others will give it a try!

I have a really delicious Apple Dip recipe to share!

I hope members of this group will try this delicious dip recipe. You can serve this as an appetizer, snack, or even as a dessert if you like. Plus you can choose your favorite type of apple to go along with this dip. I happen to like Granny Smith and Golden Delicious Apples.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday/Weekend everyone!

I am looking forward to enjoying this weekend! My fiance and I rented a comfy car and are planning on taking a trip to Chicago for the planetarium, aquarium and museum! I am so looking forward to a fun weekend and mini-road trip!

The bum side is all the fast food we end up eating, so we try to avoid "drive thru" and look for little local diners or "mom & pop" restaurants. These places have the best service and most amazing food! It tastes homemade!

What are your favorite local diner dishes? Can you re-create them at home?

Bisquick Ideas??

So I went nuts buying bulk a little while back, and I have a lot of Bisquick that is going to need using. We aren't really big biscuit eaters here and we can only eat pancakes and waffles for breakfast so many days in a row, lol.

Does anyone have any "out of the box" (sorry for the pun) recipe suggestions for this mix? I really don't want to throw it out. Since its already open the local food pantry and soup kitchen won't take it.
