Messy is back in!!

Did anyone watch the Wilton Webinar this past week? there is a whole bunch of new and exciting tools coming out over the next month and I was totally blown away that Method Course 1 was up-dated for today's cakes. Short and Sweet: Messy cakes are back, tall cakes are in and small bites are now all the rage! Happy Baking!!

Being a new Cake Decorator myself, I have become an information sponge lately and can not seem to learn enough tips, tricks, or techniques. The more I learn the more creative I get and I would love to share the two sites that I am absolutely hooked on. The sites are called Crafts y and Yummy Arts and I have to say I have learned a lot from both sites. In-order to become an instructor I have to take all 4 Wilton classes in the class room but if you are just learning, Crafts y is your best bet....Have Fun!

Poped in to say Hi!

Hi everyone, I was searching through the groups and came across "Cake Decorating" and I am totally excited that I did. I am just finishing up with Wilton Method 3 and very much so looking forward to moving onto Method 4. I have become an information and technique sponge over the past 4 months so I will listen, read and learn all the group has to offer.

Good group!

@ have some very nice looking cakes! I have a culinary degree and am working towards a more specialized degree in Baking & Pastry; plus I have taken classes and received certificates in cake decorating from The Wilton School of Cake Decorating. However, I'm also learning as I go too. I haven't taken the Wilton Wedding Cake course just yet, but I have made a couple of wedding cakes on my own. I worked at a cupcake bar for a short while and I tend to like decorating smaller cakes, minis and the cupcakes more than doing full cakes. I also did alot of freehand decorating on cookies (as a side business from home) prior to culinary school.

Thanks for starting this group, however i can bake cakes and cupcakes and decorate a lil. But would like to learn more on how to decorate, with pretty decorations etc. So tips and steps would b great for me, thanks u.
