difference between vanilla and french vanilla pudding

Can anyone tell me the difference? Have a cake recipe that calls for vanilla pudding to be added but all I have is french vanilla, its for a pineapple upside down cake.

I usually use french vanill bcuz it has more flavor..same as french vanilly cake mix over white.

Kimi, It was $3.79-$4.19 today when I was out. I put in $60 on Sat and didn't even get a full tank in my van. The prices are sposed to just keep rising..i heard on the news tonite it may reach $7.00..this is crazy talk!!

I believe the French vanilla is a bit richer in flavor and as Jessica stated, a bit sweeter tasting. I interchange vanilla and French vanilla with whichever I have at the time.
