difference between vanilla and french vanilla pudding

Can anyone tell me the difference? Have a cake recipe that calls for vanilla pudding to be added but all I have is french vanilla, its for a pineapple upside down cake.

To me, there is a taste difference, and the french vanilla is sweeter. It should work fine though. :)

Well, I see that you made it in this morning, Donna. Good deal.

I believe the French vanilla is a bit richer in flavor and as Jessica stated, a bit sweeter tasting. I interchange vanilla and French vanilla with whichever I have at the time.
