Naturally repair wood w/vinegar and canola oil

Naturally Repair Wood With Vinegar and Canola Oil ... Super cheap, use 3/4 cup of canola oil, add 1/4 cup vinegar. white or apple cider vinegar, mix it in a jar, then rub it into the wood. You don’t need to wipe it off; the wood just soaks it in.
P.S My own thought on this, I'd have to see it done it real time to decide if I'd try to wipe off the excess (if any) or not.

I've made up the mixture, and applied it to my dining room table (alas, it has had the finish washed right off of it over the years, as I could not afford to buy pads, and the little wash off tablecloths don't last long at my house. My kids are way too hard on everything. They are much better than when they were younger, but I still have a hard time getting the boys to remember that we don't cut on tables and counter tops....only on cutting boards. Anyway, I've applied it, and I put it on thick. Because I know when you clean with vinegar, if you give it some time to work for you, it is fantastic; I am going to leave it for maybe an hour. I will want to wipe it off, because of the amount I put on, and I did rub it into the wood somewhat. My table is pretty dry. It always looks better somewhat when I use furniture polish, but it costs too much, and so does olive oil (to rub on the table). I read some where that olive oil was good for this. Well I CAN say that although I can still see lighter sections where the finish is gone, it looks about 80% better than when I clean it with furniture polish...and it is WAY cheaper. I will let you know how it looks when I wipe it off, later on. Whoo hoo! I'm kinda gettin' excited!
