Ohhhh I know...I feel like my dad missed out on so much. He died at 72 of liver cancer. My son was, 6 and they were great pals. He would have loved to see them all grow up and his 2 ggranchildren.
She sounds like a wonderful mother, Kimi. How blessed you both are to have each other. My mother would have been 83 this June 7. She had diabetes and heart disease. I've got good memories of her and so do my children. Just wish she could have seen her great-grands.
My mom turns 82 next week...She is a 62yr survivor of colon rectal cancer. She is been a great inspiration to me to have courage and determination to get through the cancer I have. She is a prayer warrior. She is a blessing and I call her everyday. She lives 45 min away and because I do not drive anymore I treasure each time I spend with her. My dad passed in 2001, and she lives in her house by herself and does some lawn work and things she shouldn't do, but it keeps her busy. Yes I do cherish her very much!!
Treasure every moment you have. Mine left us way to soon at a very young 65 years. I wish she had written down more of her recipes. I've tried to recreate them the best I can.
Gail...My moms recipes mean the world to me too. She is still with us. After her stroke in 2010, she forgets how to cook sometimes. It's so weird to ask her a question about a recipe and she doesn't remember it. I am getting them written down and my sister has compiled a lot of them. What a treasure our moms are. I am thankful for her!!
Thank you Kimi for selecting my mother's fried peach pies to be included in your wonderful book. I only wish she was here to share the happiness that I know she would feel. This is one of the recipes that she was best known for.
