I want to thank all the wonderful JAP cooks for the recipes that makes these cookbooks possible.
Without you these would not be possible!
Cover picture from Fire and Ice site. Sorry no recipe, for the
flaming frosting!
Wouldn't you love to recreate it!!!
This COOKBOOK
Lovingly Compiled by
Nancy J. Patrykus [Finnjin]
That 'fire' is a clever use of spun sugar, or the caramelized sugar recipe that is then poured in flame forms on a proper surface to cool, (like waxed paper). When cool, the tall pieces were carefully 'stuck" to the frosting standing up around the cake. It is a careful, but doable, project if someone wants to take the time.
Doesn't is make a fabulous, dramatic, dessert?!
Thin spun sugar can be made in a basket shape, and then placed upsidedown over an individual cake, or meringue with berries in it.
Another beautiful cookbook Ma. Thanks for all your hard work!
