I was blessed growing up
with three mothers. Claire Angelina Berardinelli Mead was my mother. She could organize and problem solve better than anyone I knew but, she hated to cook. Enter into my life one of her best friends, Mrs. Cary Cassa. I don't even know how they met but they introduced me to my best friend of my Lifetime Mary Rose Cassa-Wilhelmsen. You could not enter the Cassa house without something cooking on the stove. There was always a warmth coming from the kitchen you could not put a value on. I was an adopted Cassa daughter and then has meant so much to me over the years. Cary Cassa gave me my first Fannie Farmer which I still have today rebound several times. My mother died in 1983 and Cary still carried me forward emotionally and culinarily. But, a third mother entered my life to make a lasting impression, her name was Barbara Smith Davis, my mother-in-law who shared with me her love, guidance and recipes
