8 Tips to Host a Festive Christmas Party

So you’re hosting the Christmas party this year…whether it is for family or friends or co-workers, here are 8 tips to help you host a successful Christmas party!

1. Ask yourself some questions:

Is there a theme? While it’s not necessary, having a theme to your Christmas party can be quite fun! Some ideas are an ugly sweater party, a mad-hatters party, Christmas PJ party and mad for plaid party.
What about gifts? Again not necessary, but people like getting/giving presents. A couple options could be white elephant (where you switch gifts all around) or secret santa.

2. Send out invites

Whether you decide to send invites out via Facebook, email or snail mail, it’s important to do this to give all party guests the 4-1-1. The holidays are a busy time for all, so getting these out early is key. Plus, if people need to buy outfits or gifts, they should know to come prepared to your awesome shindig.

6. Fun Activities for Kids and Adults

If you’re hosting a family-friendly Christmas party, having something that will keep the kids entertained is a NEED. From Christmas movies to Christmas crafts, make sure you have activities for the kiddos.

As for adults, you need some activities too. From drinking games to a photo booth – make sure you have plenty of reindeer games for guests to partake in.

7. What are we drinking?

Get those holiday cocktails ready! From eggnog to cranberry punch to spiked hot chocolate to spiced apple toddy, having many options for guests to drink is a must. Also, have plenty of water on hand to keep guests hydrated.
